Lignes de Vie, Poèmes pour Loup, JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK, CALIFORNIA

Lifelines, Poems for Loup
Small painted wood pieces arranged in various lines on granite boulders
(No glue was used, and all the pieces were removed after a series of photos were taken)
April 2021

A series of ephemeral installations near the East entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in the Mojave Desert, California. This work was made in memory of a young artist gone too soon. Loup lived in the tension between lightness and heaviness. His life was cut tragically short—a fleeting moment in time that echoes the themes of Milan Kundera’s The Unbearable Lightness of Being —yet the art and memories they left behind carry a weight that does not fade.
